When you hear the word denim, the word “sexy” doesn’t immediately come to mind. Transparent dresses are sexy. Lace tops are also sexy. I think we can all agree on these. denim? Not everyone thinks blue is sexy, but of course it can be depending on the silhouette and how you style it. Dakota Johnson just demonstrated this to a T.
The actress was photographed out and about in the Big Apple. Her two-piece look isn’t that shocking considering her cool-girl style. Johnson keeps her outfits relatively simple, but simple doesn’t mean boring or basic. Just take a peek at her ensemble for proof. She played with her proportions in a tiny black tank top that exposed her navel, paired with oversized, low-rise blue jeans that had an exaggerated hemline. Her big pants and tiny top combo is back in action, and Johnson has officially begun her reign.
You might not normally think of baggy jeans as sexy, but I think they’re quietly, subtly, and just plain sexy. They are charming yet bold in their bagginess. The sexiness comes from the fact that you don’t have to wear skin-tight bottoms. Because often the sexiest items are the ones that don’t try too hard, and baggy jeans definitely don’t.

Not to mention, baggy jeans are incredibly comfortable and perfect for summer. Not only will it be a sexy outfit, but it will also be a practical outfit. It’s no wonder Johnson paired this pair with a tiny top, another summer essential, on a hot New York day. The actress completed her easy-going outfit with her mint-colored Adidas Samba, and the next she proved two things. The Samba is this season’s “it” sneaker, and so are the pastel-colored kicks, which are a great neutral to white kicks. It’s too bland for you. Jennifer Garner recently wore mint green kicks, and frankly, Johnson’s style convinced her that I needed a pair of mint green kicks, too.
