Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia from August 25 to 26 to participate in the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), which will be held in Jeddah.
The DPM will proceed directly from Dhaka—following the conclusion of his two-day visit to Bangladesh—to attend the high-level meeting, according to a press release from the Foreign Office.
“The high-level meeting will bring together foreign ministers and senior officials from OIC member states to deliberate upon coordinated responses to the escalating developments in Palestine,” the Foreign Office spokesperson said.

It is expected that deliberations will focus on mounting concerns over Israeli military aggression, efforts toward full control of Gaza, and ongoing violations of Palestinian rights.
The extraordinary CFM session, to be chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, reflects a unified stance of Muslim nations amid deepening humanitarian and political challenges in the region.
According to the Foreign Office, discussions will center around coordinating joint efforts to confront Israeli plans that entrench occupation, enforce blockades, and contribute to a widening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

At the session, he is expected to press for the total withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied territories, reject plans for expanded military control over Gaza, and call for uninterrupted humanitarian assistance.
He will also urge the restoration of Palestinian rights, including the establishment of an independent, contiguous, and sovereign state based on pre-June 1967 boundaries, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
The extraordinary session comes in the wake of Israel’s announcement to expand its military occupation of Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly dismissed ongoing ceasefire mediation efforts and directed the military to expedite the implementation of a plan aimed at asserting full control over Gaza City.
The plan, approved on August 8, reportedly includes the forced displacement of nearly one million residents to southern Gaza, the encirclement of Gaza City, and ground operations within densely populated residential areas.
