*Heat warning Today from 12pm to 8pm*

It’s a somewhat subjective rating of the weather for that day on a scale of 0 to 10.

1/10: A moderate breeze is the only relief from another hellishly hot and humid day.

  • today: Hot and very humid. Localized storms possible this afternoon. Highs: Mid to upper 90s F.
  • tonight: A few showers and storms in the evening, with humidity dropping a bit overnight. Low Temperatures: Low to mid 70s.
  • tomorrow: Not too hot or humid. Locally stormy this afternoon? Highs: Low to mid 90s F.

Friday temperatures may struggle to reach 90 degrees and we will most likely get some much needed rain. So don’t say we never deliver good news. Today is blisteringly hot and humid again with a chance of showers and storms this evening. Tomorrow won’t be as hot or humid, but we’re on the wrong side of things again this weekend and into next week.

Today (Wednesday): Partly to mostly sunny skies will continue, and it will once again be hot and extremely humid. Afternoon highs will rise into the mid to upper 90s with heat indexes reaching 105-110 degrees. Winds will be noticeable from the south today, increasing to 10-20 mph in the afternoon, which should move the air a little, but will only strengthen the surge of humidity from the south. Scattered showers and storms are possible in the afternoon. Reliability: Medium to High

tonight: Rain and storms are expected to move across the region from west to east between 6 PM and late night as a cold front approaches and passes through. However, it is unclear if this will be a solid line that will drench the entire region in rain or a broken line with scattered rain and storms. Some storms may be accompanied by damaging winds. Humidity will begin to ease a bit overnight as winds shift out of the west and lows drop into the low to mid 70s Fahrenheit. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow (Thursday): Heat and humidity will be moderate. Highs will be in the low to mid 90s F with mostly sunny skies. Humidity will be moderate (dew points in the mid 60s F) with a light breeze from the west, raising the heat index by just a degree or two. There is a slight chance of localized showers and storms in the afternoon as the front moves east. Reliability: Medium to High

tomorrow night: There will still be a chance of isolated showers and storms in the evening. Showers and storms are possible overnight as humidity rises again and temperatures drop into the low to mid 70s F. Reliability: Moderate

More likely to experience occasional rain and storms Friday to Friday night With a front moving back in our direction, chances for frequent rain and storms are high east of Washington DC and I-95 and low west of the area. Humidity is on the rise again, but with more clouds and hope for some much needed rain, temperatures will be cooler with highs in the 80s to near 90. Lows Friday night will settle into the low to mid 70s. Reliability: Medium

for weekendA front will remain close by Saturday, bringing a chance of rain and storms. Temperatures will rise again, with highs near to the upper 90s F. Sunday will see temperatures rise to at least the mid 90s F with a smaller chance of rain and storms. Both days will be at least partly sunny with moderate to high humidity. Confidence: Medium
