Delhi Police's witty post goes viral after India beats Pakistan in T20 World Cup

This witty comment drew a flood of laughter and praise from internet users.

New Delhi:

While Indian cricket fans across the world were in a celebratory mood following India’s defeat of arch rivals Pakistan in the ongoing T20 World Cup at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, the Delhi Police shared a humorous post on social media platform X in the early hours of Monday, which became a hot topic on social media.

Referring to the New York Police Department (NYPD), the Delhi Police wrote: “@NYPDnews Two loud noises heard. One was ‘India, India!’ and the other was probably a broken TV. Can you check?”

This witty comment drew a flood of laughter and praise from internet users.

The tweet garnered thousands of likes, shares and comments in a short space of time, with users praising the Delhi Police for their sense of humour and clever use of social media to engage with the public.

The match, played in a packed stadium, featured thrilling performances and nail-biting moments that kept the crowd on their feet until the very end.

“Delhi Police, you should ask the same question to Pakistan Army. Sounds of Indian fight could be heard from the other side and many TVs were broken,” X-user Dhruv Sharma replied to the tweet.

“On top of things….Hats off to you. Delhi Police is the best, Pakistan is shocking,” commented another X user.

The India vs Pakistan cricket rivalry, one of the fiercest in sport, always attracts spectators and this match was no exception, drawing spectators from all over the world to showcase the spirit and passion of cricket.
