Draymond Green made a name for himself in the NBA due to his incredible accomplishments with the Golden State Warriors. During his stellar run in the NBA, Green won four NBA championships, was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2017, and earned countless All-Star and All-NBA honors. did. It’s safe to assume he’s a first-ballot Hall of Famer. However, Draymond’s basketball career had humble beginnings.

Before becoming an NBA superstar, Draymond Green was just a lanky teenager on the bench of the Michigan State Spartans. During his freshman season, Green averaged just 3.3 points per game. But by his junior year, Green had gradually developed into an essential cog for the Spartans. In fact, that year, Green joined Charlie Bell and Magic Johnson as the only Michigan players to record a triple-double.

His roller coaster run may have been a distant memory until Green shared his memories of his college days on social media. The Warriors’ star forward took part in a recent viral trend asking people their opinion. “The most difficult moment of my university life” Draymond shared about himself through his Instagram stories. he wrote, “Some of you will skip it. Will the Warriors part ways with Draymond Green?

Even the most optimistic Warriors fan will admit that the 2023-24 season was a huge disappointment. They finished 10th in the Western Conference with just 46 wins. And to add salt to the wound, the Sacramento Kings eliminated them from the play-in tournament. This means the Dubs will miss postseason action for the second time in the past four seasons.

With the exception of Stephen Curry, all the other main Warriors went down. The lackluster performance and production from Klay Thompson and Draymond Green was especially concerning. Without young players like Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski, Trayce Jackson-Davis and Moses Moody stepping up when needed, the Dubs wouldn’t have even come close to a record above .500. Therefore, the Warriors’ hierarchy will be looking at changes this season, which could include parting ways with Draymond Green.

The Lakers have increasingly focused on Draymond Green in recent years. Rumors linking Green to Los Angeles reached a fever pitch last offseason as he grew closer to LeBron James. The Lakers would have been thrilled to have a player of Green’s caliber and skill on the team. However, Draymond decided to sign a four-year contract extension worth $100 million in 2023. This should have effectively ended all speculation. But after another disappointing season, a trade for Draymond Green doesn’t seem too far off.
