According to reports, Bharat Bhushan won the election with a landslide margin.

Dil Raju’s term as president of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce is nearing an end. An election was held recently to elect a new president of the chamber. Renowned film distributor Bharat Bhushan and well-known film producer Tagore Madhu contested the election to become the next president of the chamber. Bharat Bhushan reportedly won the election with a large margin. According to media reports, Tagore Madhu secured just 17 votes and Bharat Bhushan secured 29 votes. Renowned producer Ashok Kumar and well-known director YVS Choudhary contested the election for the position of vice-president. Reportedly, Ashok Kumar secured 28 votes and YVS Choudhary secured 18 votes. 46 out of 48 members voted in the election. Members from the producer, exhibitor, distributor and studio sectors of the Tamil film industry voted to elect the president and vice-president of the chamber. For the last five years, Dil Raju has been the President of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce.

According to reports, outgoing chamber president Dil Raju wanted to nominate someone similar to himself as the chamber president. Initially, he put forward the name of producer Abhishek Nama. Prasanna Kumar, producer Kalyan C and other members of Dil Raju’s opposition faction opposed the decision to nominate Abhishek Nama as the chamber president. He maintained that film industry personalities from Andhra Pradesh should also be given an opportunity to serve the chamber. He further pointed out that three consecutive chamber presidents were from Telangana. After a debate, Bharat Bhushan from Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, was announced as one of the candidates.

Dil Raju put forward Tagore Madhu’s name against the film distribution executives. A fierce battle ensued between the two candidates, with Bharat Bhushan emerging victorious. The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has the primary responsibility of overseeing all the minutiae of the Telugu film industry. The chamber is also responsible for addressing the grievances of people working in the industry.
