The Dodgers quickly found themselves down by five runs at Coors Field and still needed to make up the gap going into the ninth inning with three outs to go in the game.
Of course, that’s when they finally came back to life.
The Dodgers staged an incredible comeback to beat the Colorado Rockies, 11-9, thanks to two huge home runs from Jason Heyward and Teoscar Hernandez, scoring seven runs in just the ninth inning to seal the victory.
The comeback marked the first time the Dodgers had overcome a deficit of five or more runs after the ninth inning. Since 1957The Dodgers also The first team in MLB history Hitting a grand slam and a three-run home run when you’re trailing in the ninth inning or later.

Then, with two outs and two strikes, Hernandez followed suit with a three-run homer of his own to give the Dodgers their first lead of the night.
From there, the Dodgers quickly shut down the Rockies in the bottom of the inning and duly secured the win.
The Dodgers had four runs in the ninth inning thanks to star player Shohei Ohtani, who had two hits, two RBIs and hit a season-record 476 feet solo home run to center field off Rockies pitcher Austin Gomber in the sixth inning.
Ohtani has recorded 20 home runs, 91 hits and 49 RBIs this season.
The win marked the Dodgers’ fourth victory in their last five games and their second straight win against the Rockies. The Dodgers have a 46-29 record and a big lead in the National League West heading into Wednesday’s game at Denver, the third of a four-game series against the Rockies.
The Rockies, meanwhile, are at the bottom of the division, having lost seven of their last nine games, and appeared to be on track for a win Tuesday night before slipping away in the final minutes.
