WASHINGTON – Former President Donald Trump is now running against Robert F. Kennedy Jr. amid polls showing independent candidates will steal more votes from Trump than incumbent President Joe Biden. I am fully opposed to it.
RFK Jr. is a Democratic Party ‘plant’ and a radical left-wing liberal,” President Trump said late Friday in a three-part post on his website Truth Social.
President Trump said, “A vote for Junior is essentially a wasted protest vote that could swing either way, but only against Democrats if Republicans knew the truth about Junior.” It will swing,” he said.
Kennedy, who wants to get on the ballot in as many states as possible, has attacked Biden more strongly than Trump. But he told CNN this month that “there are a lot of terrible things that President Trump has done.”
President Kennedy responded by challenging President Trump to a debate on the social media site X (formerly Twitter). “When a frightened man uses social media, he risks verbal abuse that makes him sound like he’s unfazed,” Kennedy said. “President Trump’s tirade against me is a largely incoherent barrage of wild and inaccurate allegations that are best resolved in America’s traditional presidential debate.”

In his long post, Kennedy also criticized President Trump for military aid to Ukraine, support for “big pharmaceutical companies,” deficit spending, and threats to the U.S. Constitution during his administration.
A recent poll by Marist College and NBC News found that if other candidates, including Kennedy and third-party candidates Cornel West and Jill Stein, were on the ballot, Biden would beat Trump. has been shown to be advantageous.
NBC News said, “Trump holds a 2-point lead over Biden in the head-to-head race, but a five-way poll test that includes Kennedy and other third-party candidates shows Biden trailing Trump. They are leading by 2 points.”
Mr. Biden and his allies also remain wary of Mr. Kennedy, who once considered running against the president in the Democratic primary. Several members of the Kennedy family support Mr. Biden and say their relatives are nothing more than spoilers.
