A New York jury convicted Trump of falsifying business records with the intent to commit election fraud, making him the first former U.S. president to be convicted of a criminal offense.

Donald Trump has claimed it is “highly likely” that his political opponents will be prosecuted after he became the first former US president to be convicted of a criminal offence.
