Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will embark on a three-day official visit to China starting Monday, the Foreign Office announced on Sunday.

The visit comes at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and is part of ongoing high-level exchanges between the two nations.

During his trip, Ishaq Dar will hold “in-depth discussions” with Wang Yi on the evolving regional situation in South Asia and its implications for peace and stability, according to the Foreign Office statement.

The two sides will also review the full spectrum of Pakistan-China bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest.

“The visit underscores the shared commitment of Pakistan and China to further deepen their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership,” the statement said.

The talks are expected to focus on regional security, economic cooperation, and advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

According to sources, Ishaq Dar will hold consultations with senior Chinese officials on the current conflict-like situation between Pakistan and India. High-level officials are expected to accompany the deputy prime minister during the visit.

“China has expressed full support for Pakistan in the face of Indian aggression,” a diplomatic source said, adding that discussions will focus on regional stability and diplomatic coordination.

The visit, which coincides with the presence of Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in China, is expected to include talks on broader regional security, including developments in Afghanistan.
