EA Sports’ new college football video game is back for the first time in 11 years and lists the University of Utah’s home field as one of the top 25 schools in the country for home field advantage.
(Bethany Baker | The Salt Lake City Tribune) A Utah Utes fan cheers during a game against the Colorado Buffaloes at Rice-Eccles Stadium, Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, in Salt Lake City.
Is there any team in the Big 12 with better home field advantage than the Utah Utes?
With the release of the highly anticipated new EA Sports College Football 25 just over a month away, the company this week released its top 25 rankings of the game’s toughest home-field advantages.
Utah was the only Big 12 team ranked in the top 25.
The University of Utah & Rice’s Eccles Stadium, with a capacity of 51,444, came in at No. 18 on the list, just ahead of Austin’s famed Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium and Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium.
In 2023, Utah boasts a 6-1 home record in Salt Lake City, with its only loss coming against then-No. 8 Oregon on Oct. 28. Over the past three years, Utah has compiled an 18-1 record at home, good for one of the best records in the country during that span.
The new NCAA Football video game, EA Sports College Football 25, is set to officially release on July 19th, and anticipation is running high among Utah and college football fans alike.
