According to the latest trends posted on the Election Commission’s website, with counting underway for all 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP-led NDA is currently leading in 39 seats and the Indian Union in 40. The Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) is also leading in one seat.
In the key Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav were leading from Varanasi, Lucknow, Rae Bareli and Kannauj Lok Sabha seats respectively.
Union ministers Smriti Irani and Anupriya Patel (Apna Dal (S)) and senior BJP leader Maneka Gandhi were lagging behind in Amethi, Mirzapur and Sultanpur assembly seats respectively.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA won 62 of the 80 seats, while its then allies the BSP and Samajwadi Party won 10 and 5 seats respectively.

In the Gautam Buddha Nagar assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh, BJP’s Mahesh Sharma is currently leading with 26,176 votes, according to the local election office.
Union of India’s Mahendra Nagar came second with 7,917 votes and BSP’s Rajendra Solanki came third with 6,233 votes.
The latest trends show that the BJP’s Smriti Irani is currently trailing by more than 23,000 votes, with 59,149 votes compared to her rival Kishori Lal Sharma of the Indian National Congress, who got 82,577 votes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently leading in the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat by a margin of over 33,200 votes, according to the latest trends posted on the Election Commission’s website.
