He said department officials play an important role in ensuring the smooth conduct of elections and must constantly coordinate with polling stations and designated POs and other polling staff within their jurisdiction.
Keerthi said that ballots are being distributed through the BLO and if there are areas that have not received the ballots, steps should be taken to distribute them immediately after checking with the BLO. Department officials have been directed to inspect polling stations within their jurisdiction and ensure that basic facilities are in place as per Election Commission guidelines.
Any issues found must be immediately reported to the respective AE. A webcast was conducted at 187 polling stations in the Eastern Constituency and each AE was directed to take responsibility for installing necessary surveillance cameras.
A reporting team has been set up at GMC headquarters to monitor election operations and address complaints and suggestions from field officials. They are arranging to start distributing materials needed for voting from Sunday morning and departmental personnel have been directed to coordinate with POs and APOs at material distribution centres.
If any issues arise during voting, our immediate response team will be on hand at GMC headquarters to resolve them immediately.
