The ECI team reviewed the preparations pertaining to the voter register ahead of the state assembly elections, an official statement said.
A team from the Election Commission of India met with Haryana election officials on Monday ahead of the state assembly elections scheduled for later this year.

Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Nitesh Vyas and Deputy Election Commissioner Hridesh Kumar held a review meeting with Haryana Chief Election Commissioner Pankaj Agarwal and all District Election Commissioners regarding the Second Special Synopsis Revision Programme of the Voters’ Register-2024.
According to the statement, Vyas stressed the need to set up polling stations in housing societies, high rise buildings and slum areas in urban areas as per the guidelines issued by the ECI.
During the meeting, the District Election Commissioners were directed to hold regular meetings with political parties to properly address their concerns and provide regular updates.

In case of delay in distribution beyond the stipulated time, coordination with the post offices should be ensured to expedite the process. He also directed to ensure prompt resolution of all grievances of the public related to voter registration and voter ID cards, irrespective of the mode through which they were received.
Chief Election Commissioner Pankaj Agarwal said pending applications related to voter registration will be executed on mission mode to ensure timely publication of error-free and up-to-date voter rolls.
He said all district election officers would conduct special awareness campaigns to enrol youth, people with disabilities and women in the voters’ rolls.
