With 676,809 votes, YSRCP candidate Shridhar won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. TDP candidate Maganti Venkateshwar Rao secured the second position by securing 510,884 votes while Congress candidate Jetty Gurunadhan Rao secured the third position by securing 20,378 votes.
Former Congress leader Maganti Venkateswara Rao was elected in the 2014 elections on a TDP ticket and is making his second appearance in the Lok Sabha. He defeated YSR candidate Thota Chandra Shekhar by a margin of 101,926 votes. Voter turnout in 2014 was 84.27%, and TDP emerged as the leading party in the constituency with 51.82% of the votes. While less than 1% votes were cast for the Congress, YSR Congress came second with 43.35% votes cast.
