Estonian defense technology Census Q has secured €3.8 million from US-based New North Ventures and angel investors. This marks New North Ventures’ first investment in dual-use technology.

The funding will enable SensusQ to expand its team to meet market demand, as well as gain expertise, strategic support and global networks from new partners.

In recent years, the increasing volume of data coming from the internet, drones, social media and more has become a major challenge for individuals, businesses and the defense sector. SensusQ provides an AI-powered, on-premise system that can combine data from multiple sources and sensors, including UAVs, cyber events, open source intelligence and human intelligence, into a single, all-domain, integrated picture. This system accelerates information exchange on the battlefield, enabling a decision advantage and faster targeting and time to act over the enemy.

“We are excited to partner with SensusQ, an emerging global leader in data management innovation, to pioneer creative solutions in a data-driven world.” Jeremy Hitchcock, co-founder and general partner at New North Ventures; “We are in the midst of a global power struggle, and it is critical that we invest in technologies that reduce decision times on the battlefield and in the boardroom for both the United States and our allies on the front lines.”

“Leaders struggle to quickly analyze and extract information from vast numbers of sensors and data collection sources, but SensusQ’s solution has the potential to revolutionize this process. We look forward to working closely with the team to support their continued operations in Europe and expansion into the U.S.”

“The deployment of SensusQ technology in Ukraine has increased demand for our information systems in an allied country, which we will be focused on delivering over the coming year. The knowledge and assistance provided by New North Ventures will undoubtedly help us meet that growing demand more efficiently,” said New North Ventures. Marko Kaseleht, CEO of SensusQ.

SensusQ is currently focused on the defense industry but plans to expand into other sectors that process large amounts of data every day, including compliance, fraud, risk management and security. A new funding round is currently open to international investors with dual-use experience and is expected to close in the coming months.

SensusQ participates in at least three major Estonian Defence League trainings each year and aims to become a world-leading IMS provider.
