Preliminary exit poll results for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections: various eOpinion polls have projected Prime Minister Narendra Modi to win a third consecutive term and the BJP-led NDA to win in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. All exit polls have unanimously predicted an improved performance for the NDA in the South and Bengal. Six exit polls have predicted that the NDA may win 357 seats and the INDIA bloc 148 seats. The BJP’s individual gains will be 327 seats and the Congress 52 seats. On Saturday, the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections recorded a voter turnout of 59.15 percent. Voting took place in 57 constituencies in seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
Indian National Congress Party leader Mallikarjun Kharge urged the people to vote for change and said the “festival of democracy” will be considered successful only if democratic forces topple the dictatorial regime. He said the final phase of voting to protect India’s constitution and democracy is underway and the Indian camp is fighting bravely against the dictatorial regime. “The battle is now in its final stages. The people have been steadfast in their support of us at every stage. After six stages, the people want to see us win,” Kharge said in a post on “X.” “The people want to see the promises of the Indian National Congress Party fulfilled. This time, the country has supported and taken sides with Yuva Nyai, Kisaan Nyai, Nari Nyai, Shramik Nyai and Hisedari Nyai,” he added.
