- “INDIA bloc will win at least 295 seats in the elections… it will be more than that, but not less. We have analysed this after discussing with all the leaders, and there is no doubt in the number… this is based on a people’s survey,” Kharge told reporters on Saturday.
- Kharge emphasised their intent to counter the BJP’s narrative by presenting the “truth” to the people.
- “Government surveys also happen; they (BJP) have many ways to create surveys, and the media highlights their pieces,” Kharge said. “We have decided to participate in exit poll debates. We want to bring the truth to the people, against the narrative they (BJP) are trying to present.”
- This statement follows the Congress party’s earlier decision to abstain from exit poll debates, calling them “speculation and a slugfest for TRP.”
- When asked about unity within the alliance, Kharge affirmed their solidarity and warned against attempts to divide them.
- “We are united, and we will remain united. Don’t try to divide us,” he stated.
- Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also assured unity, saying, “Shubh Shubh bolo” (speak positively), when asked about the alliance’s cohesion.
- Leaders from various parties, including Congress, Samajwadi Party, CPI-M, CPI, DMK, JMM, AAP, RJD, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (Sharad Pawar), met at Kharge’s residence for discussions as the final phase of polling was underway.
