A new way to eat pancakes has recently become a hot topic on social media, dividing opinions, with some people eager to try the “yummy” treat, while others say they “will never try it.”

Nothing starts the day off right like a tasty, delicious breakfast, but one new morning indulgence is dividing opinion among food lovers.

A new pancake trend has been making the rounds lately. While many people are loving this new hack, others are feeling sick to their stomachs. One of the first people to share the trend was popular online chef Archived Chef, who shared how to make her own pancakes on her TikTok page @archivedchef.

“Don’t get me wrong, you’ve been making pancakes wrong all this time,” she wrote in the post, which has been viewed more than 20 million times.

The chef is then seen transforming the pancake mix into scrambled pancakes, which look a lot like the ever-popular scrambled eggs. She adds, “You just scramble it like you would scramble eggs. It’s so much easier.” She then sees the batter being cut into bite-sized pieces, which certainly look a lot like scrambled eggs.

She dusted the scrambled pancakes with powdered sugar and served them with blueberries, cream and syrup. The cooking enthusiast showed them the finished product and said, “As you can see, these look much tastier than regular pancakes. Tell me they don’t look good.”

However, the chef regretted adding too many toppings to his dish. After the video was posted, it quickly became a trend on TikTok, with many users on the platform trying out this new way of making pancakes. However, many were not convinced. “Scrambling pancakes is wild,” one user said.

“This is a crime,” added another. “I would never disrespect pancakes like that,” added another.

However, some people appreciate them, as they are a delicacy eaten for breakfast in many countries: “In Slovenia we call them smolen and they are delicious… but the batter is a bit different from that of pancakes,” said one person.

Another wrote: “You must try Kaiserschmarrn, it’s an Austrian dish that looks similar to Kaiserschmarrn but tastes better than pancakes.”
