BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Kimberly D. Williams, who has more than 20 years of experience in finance, higher education and law, has been appointed vice president for administration and finance and chief financial officer at Florida Institute of Technology.

Williams, who most recently served as vice president for business affairs, chief financial officer and treasurer at the University of Findlay in Ohio, will begin his position at FIT on July 8.

“The feedback received from the campus community during Kim’s visit was overwhelmingly positive,” President John Nicklow said in an email to the university announcing her hiring, “and I am confident that she has the skills to help move the university forward together.”

Williams graduated from Fayetteville State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, earned an MBA from Western Kentucky University and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas College of Law.

She worked as a civil litigation attorney in Missouri for five years before assuming the role of Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Counsel for a global integrated airline company.

There she oversaw the company’s overall financial health and served as a strategic leader overseeing projects across multiple disciplines.

In 2016, Williams continued on his higher education path, accepting a position as business manager and director of business services at the University of Arkansas. After two years at the University of Arkansas, he was named vice president for administration and business services at Middle Tennessee State University.

As a senior administrator, she supported the department’s mission to provide effective and innovative business and administrative services to enhance learning and academic excellence on campus.

Williams will remain with Tennessee through 2022 when he accepts the position of vice president for business affairs, CFO and treasurer at the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio, where he oversaw all matters related to the financial management of the university and served as the lead steward of the university’s financial and physical resources.

Williams is a member of several professional organizations, including the National Association of College and University Business Officials, the Council of Independent Colleges and Universities, the Ohio Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, the Ohio Association of College and University Business Officials and the National Educational Procurement Association.
