BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Former Louisiana State University women’s basketball player Hailey Van Lith was selected to the 2024 USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team on Wednesday, June 5.
Van Lith will join three other women’s basketball players on the 2024 USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team, including Cameron Brink, Sierra Burdick and Rhyne Howard.
According to a news release, the team is scheduled to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, which will run from Friday, July 26, to Sunday, Aug. 11. The 3×3 basketball competition is scheduled to take place at the Place de la Concorde from July 30 to Aug. 5.
“We are honored to announce the USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team,” “It’s an exciting process as we put together the roster that will represent our country on the world stage,” said Jay Demings, USA Basketball 3×3 National Team Director and member of the USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s Selection Committee.
Jennifer Rizzotti, president of the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun, will serve as head coach of the women’s national team, with Tammy Rice of the University of Rhode Island assisting Rizzotti, according to a news release.
Van Lith announced she would be transferring to Texas Christian University in April after one season with the Lady Tigers. In her lone season at LSU, Van Lith averaged 11.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
