Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Former Maharashtra minister Suresh Navale has resigned from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena party, alleging that the CM bowed to pressure from the BJP.
Navarre also said he would not join any political party and expressed support for NCP (SP)’s Beed Lok Sabha seat candidate Bajrang Sonawane.
Navarre, who hails from Beed, said in an interview to a news channel on Monday that he resigned from the Shiv Sena on April 25.
“My contention is that the Prime Minister succumbed to pressure from the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Prime Minister came out early (after the rebellion in the Sena) and formed the government, but the pressure from the Bharatiya Janata Party was expected. “We (Shiv Sena) will be contesting on 18 seats,” he said.
In 2019, the then undivided Shiv Sena contested 22 of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra and won 18 of them.
Navarre said Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) is contesting 21 assembly seats in the state this time, and sitting members are being rejected from running here (Shinde’s party). Ta.
“The political career of those who joined Shinde is almost over, at least for today. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring. But if this is the situation in the Lok Sabha elections, the situation in the state assembly polls is “It will get worse later this year,” he claimed.
While incumbent Shiv Sena MPs like Bhavana Gawli (Yavatmal Wasim) and Hemant Patil (Hingoli) have been denied re-nomination, a decision on candidates for Nashik Lok Sabha seats is yet to be decided. That is pending, Navarre noted.
“There is no room for dialogue within the party. Party leaders remain silent. They have nothing to do with (what is happening) because they are the beneficiaries.”
After meeting his supporters in Beed on Monday, Navarre said he would support NCP (SP) candidate Sonawane.
“Since the Bharatiya Janata Party has fooled the Shiv Sena, my supporters told me to support Bajrang Sonawane and I declared accordingly,” he said.
