Former Prime Minister of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan over family property dispute.
Muzaffarabad: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan has been arrested over a family property dispute, Express News reported. The capital police also confirmed the arrest of the former PoJK chief minister. Police arrested Ilyas on suspicion of involvement in the shooting incident and seizure of family property. After Mr. Ilyas’ arrest, his supporters gathered outside the police station, and party officials also gathered outside his residence. On May 1, police charged him with trying to seize a central office at Centaurus Mall and important documents, the Express News reported.

The First Information Report (FIR) was filed by Col. Tipu Sultan (retd), Deputy Security Officer, Centaurus Mall, along with Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Muhammad Ali, Anil Sultan, Rizwan and others. An unknown individual was named as a suspect.
According to the FIR, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, accompanied by a group of 20 to 25 armed men, entered Office 1708 in Centaurus Mall by breaking the lock with a view to take control of the building. However, their attempts are thwarted by vigilant guards. Sardar Tanveer Ilyas threatened to kill Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, Dr Sardar Rashid Ilyas Khan and their colleagues, Express News reported.
Initial police reports indicate that the crowd turned violently toward security personnel. Authorities were alerted to the disturbance and immediately arrived at the scene. It is reported that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas then tried to fire at Colonel Tipu Sultan (retd.) but narrowly missed.
