Hubert Davis and his staff have set their sights high for recruiting in the class of 2025. And there’s plenty of evidence: Nearly a third of the 15 high school seniors on the University of North Carolina basketball offer sheets are set to be at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., for the 2024 USA Basketball Men’s U-17 National Team training camp, which begins Saturday.

The Tar Heels are targeting five-star forward Koa Peat from Perry High School (Ariz.), five-star forward AJ DiVanza from Utah Prep and Columbus High School (Fla.) forward Cameron Boozer and guard Kayden Boozer, the five-star twins of former Duke University basketball star Carlos Boozer.
They join 28 other promising high school players, including more than a dozen from the class of 2026, in a bid to be named to the 12-man roster for the 2024 FIBA U-17 Men’s World Cup, to be held in Istanbul from June 29 to July 7.
Pete, DiVanza and Boozer were all part of the USA Basketball U16 National Team that won the gold medal at the 2023 FIBA U16 Americas Cup, and their popularity hasn’t dropped since.
Therefore, it seems likely that all four will qualify for the Colorado Springs tournament.
Meanwhile, UNC basketball scouts appear to still be in the race to land all four teams, though they have yet to secure their first pledge for 2025. All four teams held offers from Hubert Davis & Co. last year.
Team USA boasts a 44-0 record in FIBA Men’s U-17 World Cup tournament play and has won six gold medals at the biennial event since the inaugural tournament in 2010.
