The Free Balochistan Movement (Germany chapter) held a demonstration in Dortmund, Germany on May 25th to draw attention to the consequences of the nuclear test conducted by Pakistan in Balochistan on May 28th, 1998.

The protest was aimed at raising awareness about the dangers posed by Pakistan’s nuclear weapons.

Protesters distributed pamphlets in German to express their dissatisfaction with ongoing human rights violations by Pakistan and Iran in Balochistan. Banners and placards were held up to inform German citizens about the impact of Pakistan’s nuclear activities in Balochistan, which have led to environmental damage and health problems such as cancer and birth defects.

The protesters detailed the devastating damage to agriculture and livestock farming in Chagai and Gurdhu districts. They accused Pakistan of storing nuclear weapons in Balochistan cities, including Khuzdar and Somiani, and called for international intervention to address the situation.

They warned that Pakistan’s possession of nuclear weapons was a threat to regional and global peace, especially given its history of nuclear threats.

Abdul Wajid Baloch, an organiser for FBM Germany, expressed concern about Pakistan’s economic instability and the risk of nuclear weapons falling into the hands of extremists, and called on responsible countries to support Pakistan’s efforts to disarm.

FBM activists called on international organizations working on nuclear disarmament to help remove Pakistan’s nuclear weapons from Balochistan.

Speakers at the protest included Abdul Wajid Baloch, Ubaid Zafri Baloch, Faris Baloch, Bibagul Baloch, Naveed Baloch and Rojad, a human rights activist from Kurdistan.
