Georgia Tech continues to be active in recruiting with the focus on 2025 tight end Kevin Roche tonight. Roche is a large player at 6’8″ and 235 pounds who has been overlooked in the recruiting process thus far. Roche, who took his official visit to The Flats over the weekend, becomes the Yellow Jackets’ second tight end and 14th player in the 2025 recruiting class.

Thank you to Mom, Dad, Jillian, Joe, Coach Aman, Grant, Earle, Powell, Dobbs, Dave and everyone who helped me. I couldn’t have done it without you all. pic.twitter.com/oExrD38CJc

Roche played his high school basketball at Darien High School in Darien, Connecticut and holds offers from Columbia University, University of Connecticut, Fordham University, Harvard University, Lehigh University, University of Massachusetts, University of Pennsylvania, University of Rhode Island, University of Toledo, Vanderbilt University and West Virginia University. As I said before, Roche has been overlooked for the majority of this process, but I am impressed with the potential given his size and think he will garner even more offers as the 2025 cycle progresses.
On Saturday, Georgia Tech added three-star defensive end Carrington Coombs. Georgia Tech didn’t have the same weekend as last time out, but the Yellow Jackets still rank in the top 25 nationally and fifth in the ACC. Duke is a team that has risen from sixth to fourth in the ACC. Can Manny Diaz and the Blue Devils stay in the top half of the ACC or is this just a slowdown in early momentum? It will be worth watching.
Coombs is a three-star recruit, the No. 625 player in the country, the No. 68 linebacker in the country and the No. 69 player in the state of Georgia, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Other schools that Coombs has offered to include Boston College, Kansas State University, Liberty University, University of Virginia, Oklahoma State University, University of Florida and Appalachian State University. Here are some other news and notable stats about Coombs, provided by 247Sports:
I also play basketball.
2023: Played two-way snaps at Hebron Christian Academy in Dacula, Georgia, helping lead the Lions to a 6-5 record and a berth in the first round of the GHSA 3A playoffs. As a junior, he recorded 41 tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble and two catches for 23 yards on offense.
Georgia Tech has started off really well this month. They’re only going to get better. Brent Key has done a great job of getting players on campus and recruiting them. I think they can still move up in the recruiting rankings.
