For the first time since three tornadoes struck Tallahassee on May 10, the Florida State University baseball team will play at home tonight, opening a season-ending trifecta against Georgia Tech.
Damage to Dick Hauser Stadium, home of No. 10 FSU (37-13, 15-11 ACC), on Friday included a toppled screen and a bent foul pole in the right field seats. Ta. The Seminoles will be looking to strengthen their NCAA Tournament resume with a regional tournament in two weeks. Georgia Tech (30-19, 14-13) hopes to set him up for a breakthrough in the ACC Tournament next week.
Tonight’s projected starting pitchers are the Seminoles’ Jamie Arnold (8-3, 2.27 ERA) and the Yellow Jackets’ Aidan Finatelli (5-2, 5.89 ERA). Arnold had an unfortunate loss in last week’s game against Pittsburgh, having a career-high 17 strikeouts in seven innings. Finatelli had seven strikeouts in 31/3 innings against Duke last week, but has allowed a combined 14 runs (13 earned) in his past two starts.
