Ghazal Arag, co-founder of personal care brand Mama Earth, warns of Indians’ tendency to “blindly” follow “K-beauty”, or Korean beauty trends, saying they are more suited to Indian skin. He said it is necessary to use skin care products that are well-suited to skin care.
“You’ve probably heard about or used Korean skin care products. But did you know that their formula may not be right for you?” Arag, 35, on LinkedIn I wrote this in the post:
Arag said that while Korean products can be part of your skin care routine, she cautioned against using only Korean products for your entire skin care routine.
She shared two important ways that Korean skin differs from Indian skin.
The first factor is melanin content. “Koreans have less melanin content in their skin, so they don’t experience problems like sunburn, pigmentation, uneven skin tone, and age spots that we Indians have. “There’s a lot of that,” she says.
The second reason is the difference in climate. “They (Koreans) often live in cold, dry climates, so they can layer their skin care routine with eight to 12 steps. That may not work for us. In hot, humid climates, sweat “A 12-step skin care routine can lead to clogged pores, which can lead to acne.”
Ghazal Arag, who is based in Gurgaon and shares his views on life and work on a daily basis, says Indians have different skin concerns than Koreans, so people in India need more than just hydration. , said they need skin care products that address their unique skin concerns.
“Korean skin care can be value-added, but relying solely on ‘K-beauty’ trends may not be the best approach,” she says.
Arag shared three things to do instead.
“Know your skin type and concerns,” she said. According to her, people should choose products that are effective for their skin care concerns.
“Embrace your Indian skin and choose products that are made for Indian skin and needs,” she said.
