Wide receiver Malik Neighbors continues to impress not only NFL analysts and coaching staff, but his teammates as well.
Selected sixth overall by the New York Giants in the 2024 NFL Draft, Neighbors is expected to be the next big thing coming out of LSU, and so far he has impressed everyone who has seen him play, drawing rave reviews from the Giants’ locker room.
Bobby Okereke was one of the Giants’ top defensive prospects in the class of 2023. Asked about Neighbors on Tuesday, Okereke said Neighbors could be a “very special” player in the NFL.

While it’s one thing to hear that kind of praise from a guy like Okereke, it’s Daniel Jones’ opinion that matters most. After all, Jones will be throwing passes to Neighbors this season, so how he feels about his new star receiver will have a big impact on how the Giants’ season goes.
Jones thinks Neighbors will be a good weapon for the Giants.
“He’s going to be a great weapon for us. He’s had a good spring, he’s been in good form and he’s played a lot. It’s going to take time and effort, but we’re going to get it done,” Jones said.
When asked about Neighbours’ athleticism, Jones went on to praise him highly.
“He can do it all. From a route-running standpoint, there’s very little he can’t do. He’s dynamic with the ball in his hands. He’s strong, he’s fast, he’s explosive, he catches the ball well. So yeah, he does a lot of things well,” Jones said.
Being a great player is only half the battle in any sport. The other half is working with teammates to achieve a common goal. The bond between teammates is essential to a team’s success, especially when it comes to quarterback-receiver duos.
Jones and Neighbors being on the same page could be a very dangerous combination in 2024.
