DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – Friday was a big day for downtown Davenport as Great River Brewery held a grand reopening ceremony after being closed for more than five years.
TV6’s Kyle Keel attended the grand opening celebration to find out what’s new.
Great River Brewery was a downtown Davenport staple for about a decade until 2019, when flooding from the Mississippi River caused extensive damage to the building and forced the brewery to close after HESCO’s levee failed.
The brewery remained closed until now.
Great River Brewery is in new hands and its owners say it’s back and better than ever.
The revitalized Great River Brewery has indoor and outdoor seating for more than 100 people, and Streets of Italian Pizza, another business that was forced to close after the 2019 floods, is also located inside the Great River Brewery.
The owners of Streets of Italy told TV6 they decided to purchase the entire building along with Nerds Peak Brewery, which closed late last year.
Currently, three businesses are combined into one building: Great River Brewery, Streets of Italy and Nerdspeak Brewery.
Great River Brewery is located at 332 East Second Street.
According to Great River Brewery’s website, hours are Friday from 11am to 11pm, Saturday from 10am to 11pm, Sunday from 10am to 9pm, and Monday through Thursday from 11am to 10pm.
