The 2024 college football season officially kicks off next month. College football expert, The Always College Football Show, Greg McElroyis already thinking about which teams are looking to make a big comeback this year, and the former Alabama quarterback said he’s re-voting on the teams he picked in the division last year. Texas Tech Red Raiders.

“If you went last year, why not go again? I had high hopes for the Texas Tech Red Raiders last year.” McElroy said:“And then, unfortunately, Texas Tech kind of disappointed us… but we’re actually on a roll this year.”

“They have expectations, but they’re not as high as they were a year ago…There’s optimism about this team. The good news is Beren Morton Is it okay to have the quarterback position? Looking at what happened at quarterback last year. Tyler Shaw And then Beren Morton. Shaw is going to Louisville and Morton is the guy moving forward. So that’s going to be a plus… I’m optimistic that he’s going to take the lead at that position.”

McElroy sees Texas Tech as a quietly good team that could emerge as a threat in the Big 12 and the conference. That won’t be easy, considering last year’s conference runner-up Oklahoma State is a favorite along with conference newcomer Utah. Still, McElroy said Texas Tech’s newfound quarterback stability should put it at the top of the division.

College football experts see the Red Raiders’ running ability as a plus, as well as their quarterback stability. McElroy is the Red Raiders’ head coach. Joey Maguire As he continued, he highlighted one of the biggest high school recruits Texas Tech will be counting on in 2024 and revealed why he rates McGuire highly as a recruiting coach.

“They also have some top-class wide receivers. Micah Hudson“He’s been named a high school All-American, which means a lot,” McElroy said.[He] He should be one of the best wide receivers on their team. [from] Day 1. Let’s also look at Joe Maguire’s recruiting ability… Remember, Joey Maguire [is] Very tap-in [former] “He’s a high school coach in Texas. So he’s very connected to the high school recruiting world. But he’s also done a pretty good job in the portal market. And we already know they’re a team that can run the football. So I’m very optimistic about Texas Tech this year. They’re kind of flying under the radar.”

Texas Tech will kick off the 2024 season with a home game against Abilene Christian University on Aug. 31, giving Red Lazers fans a chance to see how the team will perform this season and whether Coach McElroy’s prediction is correct in terms of being one of the comeback teams this season.
