NEW ULTIM — New Ulm Cathedral’s hit parade Wednesday at Hermann Park sent the Greyhounds into a Tomahawk Conference softball doubleheader sweep against Minnesota Valley Lutheran University.
The Greyhounds won the first game 15-1 in five innings and the second game 18-2 in four innings. The first game ended in five innings due to the 10-point lead rule, but the second game was won 18-2 in four innings. The game ended with a 4 point difference due to the 15 point lead rule.
In Game 1, Abby Hillesheim won the game with three hits, one walk, one earned run, and three strikeouts. In Game 1, Katrin Stadic suffered the loss with 13 hits, seven walks, and 11 earned runs.

The Greyhounds added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth on Hartness’ two-run shot over left field. Shea Wilfahrt had a chance to end the game with two outs due to the 15-point lead rule, but a long fly ball from her bat to center field was carried by MVL center fielder Jess Meunier to end the inning. was out.

Hornig led the way at the plate for the Greyhounds, going 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two RBIs, while Harla went 2-for-3 with three hits and an RBI.
