Thrifty fashion lovers aren’t the only ones twisting, tying, and DIYing shawls into shirts: Hailey Bieber also wore the trending scarf-top trend, fashioning a strapless shirt out of a bandana. And because she’s a certified beauty mogul who prefers to go pants-free, she’s wearing just her underwear.
To remind her followers that Lorde’s blush will be available to purchase starting Thursday, June 20, not to be missed by beauty lovers trying out the summer blush trend, Bieber shared a photo from a low-key photoshoot on Instagram. Photographed by Sean Thomas and styled by Dani Michelle, the outdoor shot sees Bieber standing in golden-hour light wearing a blue-and-white floral scarf top that falls just above her pregnant belly. (In case you missed it, she’s expecting her first child with husband Justin Bieber.) Underneath, she’s sporting floral briefs. On top of that, she accessorized with a megawatt eternity ring and a coquette bow headband.
“[J]”So cute everything,” Bieber captioned the photo, complete with butterfly and heart emojis. The only accessory to her look was a pretty pink blush on her cheeks, which she spent over two years perfecting at Rhode University.[W]”I’ll be selling @rhode blush on Piggy! Launching tomorrow at 9am PST,” she added.
Artfully wrapped scarf tops aren’t just “cute.” They’re a trend that began to explode in 2021, helped by viral TikToks that taught viewers how to make unique shirts by simply folding a scarf. Creators tried out the style with everything from thrift-store finds to Hermès silk. Unlike the overly casual summer workwear ideas on the app, the real-world practicality of these videos carried over to offline as well. In the years since, brands have jumped on the bandwagon by designing ready-made bandana tops and oversized, foldable scarves.
Bieber decided to promote her new blush by incorporating all of her unique style hallmarks, both pre- and post-pregnancy. The model is known for her penchant for oversized tops and tiny bottoms, or no bottoms at all. Events from Coachella to Lorde activations have been the backdrop for her to repeatedly show off the pantsless trend, which has become popular among celebrities including Kendall Jenner and Dua Lipa.
Hailey Bieber has proven that your favorite silhouettes work perfectly as maternity apparel. Since going public with her pregnancy earlier this spring, Bieber has worn everything from maternity crop tops and vintage biker jackets (for concerts), to strapless maternity suits (for a day at road HQ), to sweatshirts and micro shorts (for a very relatable Instagram post about back pain). In another pregnancy selfie, she appears wearing an oversized jacket over a short jumpsuit. Today’s post shows that even as she moves forward in maternity style, she’s not backing down from the clothes she wants to wear. In fact, she’s doubling down on them.
Below, we will introduce some scarf tops that you can wear with the same carefree ease as Bieber, as well as scarves that you can wrap around tops.
