Superman is ready to be a super dad.

Henry Cavill, 41, celebrated Father’s Day on Sunday by confirming that he is preparing to welcome his first child with television producer and executive Natalie Viscuso.

The Man of Steel star shared a selfie taken in the nursery, with a crib and changing station in the background.

“Happy Father’s Day to all you dads,” he captioned the photo. “Soon I’ll be joining the dad gang! Any advice?”

The actor added: “Don’t worry, there won’t be a pillow in the baby’s cot when he’s born, just glue and a scalpel so he can put together some Warhammer miniatures.”

Cavill will star in and produce a film for Amazon based on the Warhammer 40,000 game, a futuristic war game that uses miniatures to pit humanity against various threats. Cavill is a known longtime Warhammer fan and worked with Viscuso to finalize the deal with Amazon.

USA TODAY has reached out to Cavill’s representatives for comment.

Henry Cavill on Father's Day "soon" Welcome your first child.

The “Enola Holmes” star, who confirmed his relationship with Viscuso in 2021, had previously hinted that they were expecting a child together. In an April interview with “Access Hollywood,” he said his parents inspired him to become a father.

“It’s very exciting,” he said. “Natalie and I are very excited. I’m sure we’ll have more to share on that.”

On Sunday, Viscuso wrote on his Instagram Story a happy Father’s Day to the “soon to be father to our first child,” adding, “I’m filled with love and excitement!”

Henry Cavill will not return as Superman:The actor will be trying his hand at Warhammer 40,000 instead

Viscuso has previously described Cavill as “the best man I know” and wrote that she was “really, really proud” of him when he appeared on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter in 2021.

Cavill is best known for playing Superman in the DC Extended Universe, beginning with 2013’s Man of Steel, and Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series The Witcher.

In 2022, Cavill will return as Superman after a five-year hiatus in the DC film Black Adam, and is set to reprise the role in future films. “I’m back as Superman,” Cavill announced enthusiastically after the film’s release. But less than two months later, after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over as heads of DC Studios, Cavill admitted he would not be returning as Superman after all.

“This news isn’t easy, having been asked by the studio to announce my return in October prior to my hiring, but that’s life,” Cavill said.

Gunn then cast 30-year-old actor David Corenswet in the reboot of Superman.

However, so far this year, Cavill has already starred in two new action films, Argyle and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

“I’m really enjoying this stage of my life,” he told Entertainment Tonight in April.

“I really feel like I have a lot more direction in everything I do now,” he said. “One of the benefits of being older is you get the greatness of hindsight, and I have a lot more direction now, especially when it comes to my career… and I’m going to be more focused on enjoying it than I ever have before.”
