USA Soccer vs Uruguay odds, live stream, picks, lineups, scenarios: Where to watch USMNT, TV, time, predictions The United States Men’s National Team will take on Uruguay on Monday in a bid to keep their Copa America hopes alive.

Live coverage begins at 9:00 PM ET. Tournament hosts Uruguay are in dire straits for a place in the quarterfinals after receiving an early red card on Thursday in a 2-1 loss to Panama. The easiest scenario for Uruguay to advance from the group is to beat Uruguay, but that won’t be easy. The 15-time Copa America champions have been one of the best teams in the tournament so far, outscoring their opponents 8-1 in their first two group stage matches. Although Uruguay is the favorite to qualify for the knockout stages, they have yet to clinch a place in the top eight and may be looking to repeat their dominating performance on Monday in Kansas City.

Here’s what you need to know before you watch.

How to watch and odds
Date: Monday, July 1 | Time: 9pm ET
Location: Arrowhead Stadium — Kansas City, Missouri
TV: FS1 | Livestream: Fubo (free trial available)
Odds: USA +145; Draw +220; Uruguay +195
Group C Outlook
Uruguay tops the group with six points and only needs a draw to advance to the next round, but a goal difference of +7 means a loss would likely see them stay in the group. The United States and Panama are tied with three points, but the US has a slight lead in the tiebreaker with a goal difference of +1 to Panama’s -1. Bolivia has zero points and technically still has a chance to advance with a win, but their goal difference of -7 means they would need to make a big comeback.

story
USA: Coming into the Copa America, the minimum expectation was to advance from the group stage, but after Thursday’s loss, that goal looks like it might not be met. The 2-1 loss to Panama exposed many of the team’s shortcomings. First, Timothy Weah’s red card in the 18th minute showed that the U.S., despite being accustomed to regional opponents, is surprisingly inept at playing against more physical opponents. But Gregg Berhalter’s decision to go on the defensive with some halftime substitutions cost the team in a few ways. First, he brought on Cameron Carter-Vickers, but the center back looked worn down throughout the game. The game plan also worked against two of the U.S.’ most exciting players in the tournament: attackers Christian Pulisic and Folarin Balogun, who have each produced all three goals in the Copa America so far.

Berhalter will be without Ware due to suspension, which could be a blow to a U.S. team in need of goals, and Ware will also miss the quarterfinals due to suspension.

But above all else, Berhalter and company must do something they’ve barely done before: beat a top-20 team. Berhalter has just five wins against top-20 teams, four of which came against Mexico and one against Iran. The USMNT doesn’t have any notable wins right now, but they’ll likely need to do just that to advance on Monday.

Uruguay: Uruguay has been the most exciting team in the Copa America so far, and some would argue they have quickly established themselves as a dark horse to win the tournament. Uruguay has done exactly what the US failed to do in Group C, replicating their pre-match good form and in-match dominance with a one-sided scoreline, showing strong signs of a resurgence. Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez has already scored two goals in two games, but Uruguay has shown strong signs of continued good form by spreading out the scoring responsibilities while maintaining defensive composure. Uruguay are the natural favorites to win Monday against the US, and the tests in the second half of the tournament will likely reveal just how good this team really is.

Predicted lineup
XI: Matt Turner, Antonee Robinson, Tim Ream, Chris Richards, Joe Scali, Yunus Musah, Weston McKennie, Gio Reyna, Christian Pulisic, Folarin Balogun, Brenden Aaronson.

Where is Marcelo Bielsa?
The U.S. will be without Weah, while Uruguay also enters the match unusually suspended. Marcelo Bielsa, the highly-regarded coach who has successfully revamped a historically talented squad, is serving a one-match ban for his team’s slow return to the pitch in the second half of Thursday’s 5-0 win over Bolivia.

Similar suspensions were given to Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni, Chile coach Ricardo Gareca and Venezuela coach Fernando Batista earlier in the tournament.

America’s Group C scenario
If the US wins: If Panama draws or loses, the US advances to the knockout stage. If Panama wins, the US advances, but they need to have a better goal differential than Panama. Currently, the US has a two-goal advantage.
If USA Draws: The USA will only advance if Panama draws or loses.
If USA loses: The USA will only advance if Panama loses and if they have a better goal difference than Panama. If the USA loses 4-0 and Panama loses 1-0, Panama will advance.
Copa America tiebreakers
If two teams are tied on points after the group stage, it is always important to check the tiebreaker as each tournament may apply certain rules slightly differently. Below is how tiebreakers are applied in the Copa America.

Team with the biggest goal difference in all group stage matches
Team with the most goals scored in all group stage matches
A head-to-head match between two teams with the same score
Fewer red cards
Fewer Yellow Cards
