The United States cricket team stunned the world on Thursday, June 6th.
World No. 18 and player of the game Monankh Patel and his valiant team recorded a surprise win in the super over (tiebreaker) against sixth-seeded Pakistan, who were overwhelming favourites, in Dallas.
“I’m happy with the win,” Patel said after the match. “It was our first time playing against Pakistan in a World Cup and we came away with a win, it was an incredible performance from our team.”
But they’re still far from winning it all.
Star players Patel, Saurabh Netravalkar and the rest of the U.S. roster will next face world number one India on Wednesday, June 12, at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in East Meadow, New York.
