TikTok users have been recreating popular videos of “cool girl” creators showing off their rooms, with viewers obsessed with the creators’ room surfing.
In February, TikTok user Ellen Harrold made 18 million viewers laugh with a “hilarious” video in which she gave a friend a tour of her bedroom.
“Show him my room like a cool girl,” she wrote in the caption, which eventually led to a TikTok trend called “Show him my room like a cool girl.”
In the video, Ellen points to a framed photo hanging on the wall, then when she gets to a surfboard leaning against the wall, she jumps sideways, puts her weight on the bed, and lands on top of the surfboard.
She then gets her body in the right position to pretend she’s surfing in the ocean, making the person behind the camera burst into laughter.
It took TikTok users several months to recreate the video, but it has been re-posted millions of times since June of this year.
TikTok user “grincesslera” shared her own take on the viral video, which sees her pointing at photos on a wall and leaning back on a couch with her feet on a surfboard. Her TikTok went viral, eventually racking up 46 million views.
TikTok user Christina Bell also tried out the “show off your room like a cool girl” trend, garnering not only 120 million views but also a comment from Google that she “immediately searched for surfing tutorials.”
The “Show Off Your Room Like a Cool Girl” trend isn’t the only viral fun TikTok users have been having this summer: The “Match My Freak” trend has also seen millions of versions.
Despite the exposure of TikTok users’ odd habits, users have enjoyed finding others who share their quirks.
