The men’s major season culminates this week with the 152nd Open, broadcast live exclusively on Sky Sports from Royal Troon with 24-hour coverage.
Brian Harman returns as the defending champion after last year’s impressive victory at Royal Liverpool, while world number one Scottie Scheffler returns after a three-week absence and is seeking his seventh victory in his last 11 PGA Tour starts.
Rory McIlroy has another chance to win his fifth major title and his first since 2014, while he is joined in a strong field by Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau, both of whom have already won a major tournament this season.
Rory McIlroy acknowledged he got over the disappointment of last month’s U.S. Open “fairly quickly” and said he was grateful for the support he has received since then.
Three-time World Golfer of the Year Tiger Woods will make his debut in Scotland after missing last year’s tournament due to injury, while Ludvig Aaberg and Viktor Hovland will also be aiming for their first major titles.

When will the tournament broadcast begin?
Full coverage begins at 6:30 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Live broadcast on Sky Sports GolfPrior to the opening tee shot at 6:35 a.m. both days, first and second round action will be broadcast live until 9 p.m.
Coverage on Day 3 will begin at 9am and continue until the end of play. The Red Button will bring you live early play, while “Saturday at The Open” will bring you the latest on the course, Shot Center Challenges, special guests, fun features and more.

There will be four featured groups to follow each day, two in the morning and two in the afternoon. The featured hole feed will be the “Par 3 Channel” and will cover the iconic par 3 eighth hole known as “The Post Stamp.”
Before the tournament events begin, the ‘Live At The Range’ show will take fans behind the scenes at Royal Troon every day, bringing you all the preparations, news and interviews leading up to this week’s Major.
Rory McIlroy came to the Open Zone to show off his wind-hitting techniques ahead of the British Open at St. Andrews.
The practice rounds on Monday and Tuesday will feature six hours of live coverage across two sessions, followed by an additional hour of coverage for the tune-up round on Wednesday, as well as a special two-hour live preview show to cover many of the other pre-tournament topics.

A special R&A documentary, “Trevino”, will air during tournament week, delving into the incredible life of six-time major champion Lee Trevino, while the official British Open film and other historic highlights will be shown on Sky Sports Golf.
