Poonch IAF convoy attack: Two days after a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch left one Indian Air Force (IAF) soldier dead and four others injured, security forces have identified two terrorists and released their sketches. The military announced that INRA reward of 2 million yen is offered for information leading to the arrest of two terrorists.
An Indian Air Force (IAF) convoy came under heavy firing on Sunday while en route to Sanai Top in Surankot area of Poonch district. Pakistan-based terrorists targeted the last vehicle in the convoy and IAF soldiers’ response was swift. Five soldiers were injured in the ensuing gunfight and were airlifted to Command Hospital for treatment.
Local forces of the Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifles cordoned off the area and launched intensive search operations to locate the terrorists.
The injured IAF soldiers were airlifted to the command hospital for treatment, during which Corporal Vicky Pahade succumbed to his injuries. “CAS Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary and all members of the Indian Air Force pay tribute to the brave Corporal Vicky Pahade who made the supreme sacrifice in Poonch district for the nation. Our deepest condolences to the bereaved family. “We stand firmly by your side in this time of sadness,” a post on the official X handle of the Indian Air Force (IAF) said.

Corporal Vicky Pahade, a resident of Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district, recently returned to duty after taking leave for his sister’s wedding. He joined the Indian Air Force (IAF) in 2011 to fulfill his father’s dream and is survived by his wife Rina and son Hardik.
Geeta Pahade, Vicky’s sister, said, “I am proud of my brother. I learned about this (his death) the day before yesterday. I hope justice is given to him.”
