The International Cricket Council (ICC) has changed the location of the team’s hotel after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed dissatisfaction over the team’s distance from the ground where they will play India in New York, a Pakistan Cricket Board source told The Associated Press.

India and And Pakistan will be deployed in New York on Sunday.

Previously, the team’s hotel was a 90-minute drive from the stadium, but the Indian team’s hotel was about 10 minutes away.

Naqvi contacted the ICC to express his concerns and successfully persuaded World Cup organizers to relocate the Pakistan team to a hotel just five minutes away from the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

The Pakistan team is scheduled to play two Group A matches against India on June 9 and Canada on June 11 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma’s Indian team is looking to win its first T20 World Cup since the inaugural tournament in 2007. India got off to a flying start with a commanding eight-wicket win over Ireland on Wednesday.

Pakistan will begin their World Cup journey on Thursday against co-hosts USA in Dallas. India had a narrow win over Pakistan in the last tournament. The two teams have met seven times in the tournament with India winning five times, losing once and drawing once.
