IEEE-USA, along with lead sponsors AFRL Regional Network Midwest and South Dakota State University, will host the Innovation, Workforce and Research Conference on June 10 and 11 to introduce the CHIPS Act to South Dakota.
This exciting two-day event will include an evening reception on June 10th in Sioux Falls and a full-day summit on June 11th. The program agenda has just been published and is available at iwrc.ieeeusa.org.
The IWRC engages regional and national experts on research grants, technology transfer programs, start-up funding, intellectual property, and many other topics related to stimulating and driving real innovation in the Dakotas and Midwest. We provide a forum for discussion. Most importantly, IWRC brings together change-makers from key regions of the local economy to meet, learn, discuss, and plan how the CHIPS Act will impact this region of America.

Conference topics will include experts on a wide range of topics, including the Established Program for the Advancement of Competitive Research (EPSCoR), small business management, federal partnerships, the future of South Dakota’s workforce, and partnerships with tribal universities. A led discussion is also included. . Attendees can also expect engaging breakout sessions on topics such as funding opportunities, leveraging state and local resources, AI, regional economic development, and the impact of the CHIPS Act on South Dakota and neighboring regions. .
