IHOP will be releasing a special on-trend pancake flavor in June. Pictured above is an IHOP sign taken on August 28, 2014 in Kissimmee, Florida.
IHOP’s new “Pancake of the Month” marks the pancake house’s embrace of popular flavor trends that have inspired other restaurant chains and popular candy brands to offer new treats.
IHOP recently offered customers Cinnamon Apple Pecan Pancakes in April and White Chocolate Raspberry Pancakes in May. Throughout June, IHOP will be producing special pancakes that taste similar to many of the Orange Cream and Orange Creamsicle foods and drinks that have appeared on the special menu elsewhere.
As of Saturday, June 1, IHOP’s new Orange Cream Pancakes are being promoted as June’s special pancake flavor on the restaurant chain’s website.
“The Orange Cream Stack is dreamy!” IHOP’s website proclaims in celebration of the flavor’s launch. The orange-flavored four-pancake stack comes with vanilla mousse, special orange sauce, and whipped cream.
According to the website, IHOP customers can try a “combo of two pancakes, two strips of bacon or two pork sausages, two eggs of your choice, and hash browns.”
According to the food blogger, the new pancake flavor is already available at IHOP locations across the US and will remain on the menu through the end of this month. Markie Devo.
Despite the popularity of the orange cream trend, several social media users who commented on Devo’s Instagram preview offered mixed reviews on whether or not the flavor was appealing.
“Hmm I’ll pass on that lol,” one fan wrote.
“This is not right 😭,” commented one Instagram user, while another agreed: “No 👎🏻.”
But one person who has already tried the pancake flavour in question seems to have enjoyed it: “So tasty 😋🍊🥞!” they wrote.
Another person shared a GIF showing how excited they are about the new flavour idea.
IHOP’s June pancake flavor joins similar food and beverage launches recently from brands like Wendy’s, Sonic and M&M’s. Wendy’s introduced its Orange Creamsicle Frosty in February, followed by Sonic introducing its new Orange Cloudsicle Slushie Float in May. M&M’s recently decided to join the trend, bringing back the brand’s Orange Vanilla Cream candy for a limited time.
