Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf, led by jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Tuesday flatly denied rumors of secret negotiations with the establishment, saying the party was not interested in consulting with anyone.

“Today, I asked Imran Khan, the founding chairman of the party, whether some institutions have contacted him for talks. Imran Khan said that no one has contacted him. ,” PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Khan told reporters outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

Gohar Khan was quoted by Dawn as saying that he has not even received any contact from anyone asking for dialogue, nor has he received any message from anyone for dialogue.

Gohar Khan’s clarification came days after some media outlets reported that Imran Khan had revealed that some PTI leaders were still in contact with the regime. .

“The same goes for the other party’s leadership. Even if we receive a message from someone asking for dialogue, we will inform the media.”

Gohar Khan said that whenever PTI is interested in a dialogue, the dialogue will be held in public and the media will be informed about it.

He also said that the PTI will not form an alliance with any political party that has stolen its mandate. However, the party will continue to strive and struggle for the rights of the people of Pakistan. Earlier this month, Dawn newspaper reported that Imran Khan told reporters at Adiala prison after the hearing in the Al Qadir Trust case that he was ready to dialogue with anyone for the good of the country. .

The PTI founder said if he could meet former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, whom he later accused of contributing to the collapse of the PTI government in April 2022, he would be open to meeting anyone as the country is going through a difficult phase. .

Imran Khan said several PTI leaders were “still in contact with the regime” for negotiations, but did not provide details, the report said.
