India Election Results 2024 Live Updates: The Indian Union made a major breakthrough in the recent Indian Lok Sabha elections, with the Congress-led coalition expected to win more than 200 seats across the country. The BJP fell to 240 seats, contrary to exit polls’ predictions, well below the number it won in the 2019 elections.

Meanwhile, in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP led by the Samajwadi Party and the BJP is leading with 42 seats, while the BJP led New Delhi Natal Dynamo Party (NDA) is leading with 37 seats, with the BJP lagging behind. In Bihar, the BJP is leading with 15 seats, while the BJP is leading with 11 seats, making it the strongest party. In Rajasthan and Gujarat, where the BJP won by a landslide in 2019, the BJP is likely to make a dramatic comeback by winning seats. The TMC is leading in West Bengal, having won on its own in the state despite being part of the Indian Union.

The chances of the BJP-led NDA achieving its 400-seat target are slim as the Indian Union continues to lose more and more seats. Notably, exit polls had predicted the NDA to win over 350 seats, but latest reports suggest that this too is highly unlikely to be achieved by the NDA.

With the counting underway for the 2024 Indian Lok Sabha elections, the fate of the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) and INDIA (National Development and Inclusive Alliance for India) remains uncertain. Exit polls have given a verdict in favour of the NDA and according to all leading agencies, the BJP-led NDA has won over 350 seats for the second consecutive time.

Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 Live: Check Here In Hindi

Taking a closer look at the exit polls for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, India Today’s Axis My India gave the NDA 361-401 seats, while INDIA Alliance 131-166. ABP News’ C Voter gave the NDA 353-383 seats, while INDIA Alliance is expected to win 152-182 seats. Similarly, all agencies predicted a landslide victory for the NDA, and the numbers were even better than in 2019.

In the 2019 general elections, the NDA won a total of 353 seats, with the BJP alone winning 303 seats, while the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) managed just 91. This dramatic difference in results ultimately led to the formation of the Indian Alliance ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Tuesday’s Lok Sabha election results will feature a host of high-profile contests, including veterans and newcomers, formidable rivals and surprise candidates. Here are some of the key contests to watch:

Narendra Modi vs Ajay Rai in Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi ran for the Lok Sabha from Varanasi for the third time, defeating AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal in 2014 and Samajwadi Party’s Shalini Yadav in 2019.

The Indian National Congress has fielded Ajay Rai, who contested as its candidate from the constituency in 2014 and 2019. Before Modi, the Varanasi seat was held by Bharatiya Janata Party veteran Murli Manohar Joshi.

Rahul Gandhi vs Dinesh Pratap Singh in Rahe Bareli

Rahul Gandhi contested the Lok Sabha elections from Rae Bareli against BJP’s Dinesh Pratap Singh, a three-time MP from Amethi who lost to incumbent MP Smriti Irani in 2019.

The seat, held by her mother Sonia Gandhi until February, had been held by the Indian National Congress since 1952, except for three elections in 1977 (Janata Party), 1996 and 1999 (BJP).

Rahul Gandhi vs Annie Raja in Wayanad

Rahul Gandhi, a senior Congress leader, is seeking a second term in Kerala’s Wayanad constituency against Annie Raja, a CPI leader and women’s rights activist. The race is of particular interest because both the Congress and the CPI are members of the Indian Union. In 2019, Gandhi won Wayanad constituency by a landslide, defeating PP Sunil of the CPI by 431,000 votes.

Smriti Irani vs KL Sharma in Amethi

Once a Gandhi family stronghold, Amethi has been a hotly contested district in the last two Lok Sabha elections. BJP’s Smriti Irani, who took the seat from Rahul Gandhi in 2019, is seeking re-election from the constituency, while the Indian National Congress has fielded Kishori Lal Sharma, a close aide of the Gandhi family.
It is the first time in 25 years that the Gandhi family has not contested elections from the Amethi Lok Sabha seat.

Shashi Tharoor vs Rajiv Chandrasekhar in Thiruvananthapuram

Shashi Tharoor, a sitting Member of Parliament and former Union Minister, is seeking re-election for a fourth consecutive term from Thiruvananthapuram. Tharoor is taking on Rajiv Chandrasekhar, leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and a Union Minister. Tharoor won his first Lok Sabha election and is looking to expand his party’s influence in Kerala. Another leading leader in the race is Pannyan Raveendran of the CPI, who won from the same constituency in 2005.
