The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Friday, May 3, witnessed a war of words between India and Pakistan. India responded with applause to Pakistan’s statement about “targeted assassination in Pakistan by New Delhi”. Pakistan’s UN Special Envoy Munir Akram, addressing the UN General Assembly, said that this foreign terrorism (originating in India) is not limited to Pakistan.
“This targets the killing of political opponents in Canada, and there have been attempts in the United States and possibly other countries,” Munir said. He cited a report in the Washington Post that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at a recent political rally and said, “‘This is Modi, this is the new India, where you enter enemy territory and then attack.'” Quoted.
“This new India is dangerous. It is a provider of an unsafe and insecure internet,” Munir added.
India’s sharp reaction to President Park
Reacting to Munir’s remarks, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj said New Delhi remained committed to constructive dialogue even during these difficult times.
“We have therefore decided to set aside the statements of a particular delegation (Pakistan), which are not only disrespectful but also undermine our collective efforts due to their destructive and harmful nature. ,” said Kamboj.
“…this country’s myriad languages, dialects, and cuisines, along with a rich tapestry of races, colors, and landscapes, contribute to the resilience and richness of our composite culture.” .”

“We would like to urge that delegation to align with the fundamental principles of respect and diplomacy that should always guide our discussions, or to commit to a country (Pakistan) that itself has the most questionable track record on all fronts. Is that too much to ask?” she added.
Mr Kamboj further said that terrorism is in direct contradiction to a culture of peace, creates discord and breeds hostility. She said it was essential that her Member States work together to foster a true culture of peace.
“New India kills terrorists on home base”
Speaking at a Lok Sabha election rally in Rajasthan last month, Prime Minister Modi said the country was now a “new India” that had attacked enemy territory. This clearly refers to the counterattack in Pakistan after the terrorist attack in India.
“New India will kill them (terrorists and enemies) on their home soil,” PM Modi said at a rally in Churu.
At an election rally in Gujarat, Prime Minister Modi said on Wednesday (May 1), “Ten years ago, this country was suffering due to terrorism. However, even though the Congress was aware of the origins of terrorism, it once submitted documents to the government.” ”, repeating his own statement. Today, Pakistan and India are killing terrorist masterminds on their own territory without sending documents to them! ”
