India vs Pakistan, Women’s T20 Asia Cup: 1st Innings Highlights

India faced Pakistan in the Women’s Asia Cup in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, and some brilliant bowling from off-spinner Deepti Sharma (3/20) helped them beat their neighbours by 108 runs.

India picked up their first wicket in the second over when Pooja Vastrakar got Gul Feroza out and the ball was caught at mid-on by captain Harmanpreet Kaur.

Pooja Vastrakar took two wickets in the match against Pakistan, dismissing another Pakistan opener, Muneeba Ali, and by the fifth over Pakistan were 26 for 2.

Off-spinner Shaileyanka Patil then got Aliya Riaz caught at midwicket by Rodrigues and Pakistan struggled to score runs to mount a challenge.

Pakistan captain Nida Dar was next to be run out when she was hit by Dayalan Hemarata at long-on off a Deepti delivery and the batsman bowled a big ball straight over the boundary as per usual but was out.

India continued to take wickets – pacer Renuka Singh got two off Sidra Amin and Iram Javed – and Pakistan were at 61 for 6 in the 13th over.

Tuba Hassan and Fatima Sana continued their 31-run partnership which came to an end when Tuba Hassan was out. India picked up three wickets in the 18th over from Hassan, Sayeeda Aloob Shah and Nashra Sandhu.

Sana hit two sixes off left-arm spinner Radha in the 19th over to take Pakistan past the 100 mark.
