Australian influencers are causing a stir online with their new bikini trend.
Social media stars such as Tammy Hembrow, Skye Wheatley and Brittany Hockley have been flaunting their figures in skimpy two-piece swimsuits made up of stretchy “triangle” G-strings which some say look like nappies or disposable underwear worn during spray tans.
Australian beauty queen Gabby Epstein also recently wore a skimpy leopard print G-string version of the trend, showing off her extremely slim figure on social media.
However, many fans flooded the comments section, claiming that the bizarre bikini bottoms were unflattering.
“The worst looking swimsuit I’ve ever seen,” one person wrote. “Those bottoms are super ugly,” another agreed.
Skye was also criticised by fans for her sexy two-piece look, with one fan commenting: “That bikini looks like lingerie.”
Meanwhile, Brittany has also embraced the trend, donning a range of coloured swimsuits during her engagement trip to the Maldives with her fiancé, Swiss footballer Benjamin Siegrist.
Celebrity stylist Jess Pecoraro, who works with the likes of Jackie O. Henderson and Megan Gale, told Daily Mail Australia that bikini styles only look good on certain body types.
“It’s perfect for someone like Georgia Fowler or Dominique Eliza. If you’re someone who’s super toned, it’s fine,” she explained.
When it comes to swimwear, she says that chic cuts that offer some skin can be sexier than trends that barely reveal any skin, especially as you get older.
“I think as you get older you start to think, ‘I don’t need to wear a diaper bikini to look sexy,'” she says.
“I can wear a beautiful one-piece and still be like, ‘Hey, I’m sexier than that girl in a diaper bikini.'”
One after the other Amazing A new trend has recently emerged from Miami Swim Week 2024.
Designers are taking inspiration from 1990s fashion to create rosette bikinis, featuring the popular floral embellishment.
Popular brands like Mahogany Coast Swim, Ema Savahl, and Diva Boutique chose statement flowers as the centerpiece.
Rosette details add structure and a feminine touch to swimwear, giving this season’s pieces a romantic yet sexy feel.
The Blue Topaz show subtly embraced the trend by adorning a strapless bikini set with white rosettes, while Mills Rose went all out, creating a stringy bikini top with tiny rosettes that only covered the wearer’s nipples.
As countless fashion brands updated their Y2K styles, the swimwear industry eschewed bright, neon triangles in favor of a classier, yet more scandalous, trend.
The model walked the Mills Rose show wearing a pink crocheted bikini with tiny rosettes on the top.
The designer also showed off a two-tone denim bikini with rosettes on one bra cup and a simple triangle on the other.
