COLORADO — The International Ski Instructors Association has awarded the 2027 Interski to the United States.
The largest snow sports conference, Interski brings together world-class alpine, snowboard, telemark, cross-country and adaptive instructors from over 30 countries and is held in a different country every four years.
The event will be held in Colorado, the headquarters of the American Professional Ski & Snowboard Instructors Association/American Snowboard Instructors Association (PSIA-AASI). Specifically, it will be held in Vail/Beaver Creek from April 3-10, 2027, with up to 2,000 people expected to attend.

There are more than 1,200 snow pros in Park City and hundreds more in Greater Utah. Without the requirement for international travel, many of them will have the opportunity to participate in 2027.
“Interski 2027 will expose a larger part of PSIA-AASI to this great event,” PSIA CEO Peggy Hiller said in a statement. She added, “Gathering on the snow in the United States in the same week to ‘ski the Austrian way’, gaining insight from colleagues in the Southern Hemisphere, and learning from members of the Korean national team has been a great addition to my snowsports knowledge.” “This is a unique opportunity to expand.”
The only other event held in the United States was the 1968 Aspen Games.
“This is a testament to the strength of our association, the skill and dedication of our members, and the quality of our professional development resources for snow professionals,” Hiller said.
Interski was first held in Austria in 1953 and has since been held in the Czech Republic in 1975, Japan in 1979, Argentina in 2015, Bulgaria in 2019, and Finland in 2023.
“Interski provides us with a greater platform to educate the public about the importance of taking lessons from qualified professionals,” Hiller said.
According to PSIA-AASI, the association is comprised of eight geographic regions from coast to coast and serves more than 32,000 members and 320 member snowsports schools.
