Below is the 2024 All-Greater Rochester boys golf team, as determined by a vote of Section V coaches with input from sportswriters from the Democrat, Chronicle and Messenger Post.
Golfer of the Year
Year: Sophomore
parents: Nicole Wegman and Jason Wehle
Key Results: I helped my team reach the section finals and share the individual section championship, finishing with eight consecutive rounds under par and 15 rounds above par, and earned this award for the effort and time I put into my game.
Why he was chosen as Golfer of the Year: Danny Wehrle has been the most consistent golfer this season. Though only a sophomore, Wehrle is already a two-time AGR first team selection. He was named to the All-State team twice and placed 17th at the state tournament in June after finishing fifth in 2023.
A two-time individual division champion, Wehrle won the Section V Class B title as a freshman at Bishop Kearney and was a co-medalist this spring at the Section V Class AA and state qualifying tournaments with teammate Richard Essen. During the postseason, Wehrle shot a three-under-par 69 at the sectional and an even-par 72 at the state qualifying round to safely advance to the NYSPHSAA tournament with a two-round total of one-under-par 141.

parents: Tracy and Anthony Bradley
Key Results: He had an albatross in the second round of the 2024 McChamp Invitational Junior Championship at Memorial Park GC in Houston, then finished in the top five at regional qualifying to earn a spot in the New York State Championships.
Future Plans: I plan to compete representing a Division I collegiate golf program and eventually play professionally.

parents: Ashley Sayer and Brent Burgess
Key Results: I had the honor of representing Section V at the State Championships alongside some great local players, where I shot a final round of 67 (-5) to place fourth and set the school 18-hole record.
Future Plans: He verbally committed to attend West Virginia University.
Year: Senior
parents: Christine and Andrew Carpentier
Key Results: 68 strokes to win Section V tournament
Future Plans: He is studying business while playing Division I golf at Loyola University in Maryland.
Year: 8th Grade
parents: Sandy Perry and Bastian Domadinko
Key Results: He won the Tournament of Champions with a score of 71.
Future Plans: I’m not sure yet, but I would love to play Division I golf.
Year: Freshman
parents: Jennifer and Scott Ikus
Key Results: The average score for the nine holes was 36.
Future Plans: I plan on playing Division I golf in college.
Year: Senior
parents: Christine Hopple and Richard Essen
Key Results: Section V individual co-championship.
Future Plans: He attended the University of Scranton (Division III) and plays on the school’s golf team.
Year: Senior
parents: Tamari and Matthew Hill
Key Results: He shot 4-over-par 148 (74-74) in the NYSPHSAA tournament, tying for 14th place.
Future Plans: He played Division I golf at Colgate.
Year: Junior
parents: Alisa and Scott Jerome
Key Results: He shot 73 at the Supersectional and qualified for the state tournament.
Future Plans: He will attend college to continue playing competitive golf.
Year: Senior
parents: Debbie and Mike Keel
Key Results: Their scoring average this year is 36.5 points, the third lowest.
Future Plans: He will attend Siena College where he will study golf and finance.
Year: Junior
parents: Daniel and Kevin Tehan
Key Results: He led Monroe County in scoring average during the regular season (36.3).
Future Plans: Earn a Master’s in Business Administration while playing golf in college.
Year: Junior
parents: Stephen Thompson
Key Results: They won the Class B district championship three years in a row.
Future Plans: He hopes to play Division I or Division II golf, but hasn’t yet decided where.
Coach of the Year
Profession: High school athletics at Victor High School.
College coaching experience: She was a member of the girls varsity golf team for eight years, the hockey team for 14 years and the boys varsity golf team for 15 years.
family: Wife Kate, daughter Sophia, son Slade, and dog Bauer.
