In these super-humid days of the season (and it’s really too humid this time), what we crave most right now is to wear clothes that make us feel like we’re wearing nothing. There’s a feeling that fashion is trying to break barriers when it comes to balance and durability of summer trends. Something that brings a new message to the summer wardrobe and stirs a little excitement in us as we try something new.
The latest clear trend we’ve seen recently is gaining momentum as the scorching heat takes over weather apps. Instead of the little tops that are overused every summer (and many of us don’t use them to our advantage), Fishnet tights has appeared.
What does this mean? We’re talking about some very strong alternatives: dresses, tops, skirts and even socks made of stiff net. The only rule of thumb? Boldness is a must when wearing it.
These pieces come in many variations, but the basis is the type of net. Neither the classic knitted nor the standard crocheted, but a somewhat stiff and thick net. It gives off a more luxurious feel than other translucent garments and declares a central statement of the current trends. Different fashion brands already offer different options: combined with glitter and beads, or completely plain, with just a plaid stitch, you can be sure that you will be satisfied.
So what are the important things to know when trying it out? You have to be aware that it is essential to combine a top underneath the net item. This means thinking about color contrasts or maintaining a subtle monochromatic look. Of course, it depends on the event. The first thing that comes to mind when thinking about such an outfit is, of course, a beach outing, but as we have already said, if you like boldness, feel free to do so. There are different versions, so in many cases you can wear it for a night out with a less “flashy” bottom piece.
